Kindergarten, and grades 1-5 gifted education and enrichment through nature in Jay, Maine

Sweet Tomatoes Learning Center offers multi-age educational experiences to include nature hikes, project-based learning, center choice activities, arts and crafts, academic skill-building, and learning through active play. All sessions are led by a state certified teacher/principal with decades of gifted education experience.

These sessions cover extensions to homeschool for kindergarten and grades 1-7 beyond state learning standards. 
We offer 1 to 3-days a week learning options, as well as shorter part-day enrichment class sessions (as space allows).

The Sweet Tomatoes Learning Center program is from 9am-3pm. We do have an extended hours options available- just ask!

Daily schedules include:
-Welcome time
-Free play (creativity centers, thematic materials, arts and crafts, scientific exploration, writing centers, games and exercise, and more)
-Academic time (nature-based gifted education and skills practice, meeting and exceeding state learning standards)
-Executive skills practice (communications, time management, focus, goal setting and review of the day)
-Nature hiking and outdoor exploration on our acreage in the fields and trees
-Farm time with animals on the farm (leading, grooming, feeding, learning about the farm animals- no horseback riding. *Riding lessons can be arranged outside of class!)
-Games and logical thinking skills
-Arts and crafts and other creative practice (painting, crafting, storytelling, book making, journaling ideas, and more)

​Current 2025/26 school year:
Second quarter 2025-2026= classes are from Dec. 1 through Feb 27, except the following holidays/breaks:
Winter break: December 22, 2025-Jan 2, 2026
Mid-winter break: February 9-Feb 13, 2026

Third quarter 2026= classes are from March 2 through June 5, 2026, except the following holidays/breaks:
Spring break: March 16-March 20, 2026
Mid-Spring break: May 11-22, 2026


Tuition for spring quarter is $80 per day, (or 5-days a week for $3300 per quarter)

EXTENDED CARE RATES 
$8 per hour, pre-paid contract only. (Or $100 per week). This is contracted for each session. We cannot accommodate last minute plans/changes.)


*Late fees of $1 per minute after your contracted time will apply and be paid immediately upon pick-up.

Tuition in any category above is non-refundable.
We charge a $100 non-refundable registration fee every year per student in any of the above categories. 
5% discount off total tuition costs for the first child in a family with multiple children from the same family (not including early/after care).

Students may join us mid-year or mid-quarter if space allows for pro-rated tuition, please inquire!
